June Mukherjee, Founding Editor of The Asian Footprints, a new age-travel media platform and Founder of Whitehat Media, a global digital media organization, is a leading travel journalist and industry influencer with 25 years of diverse media experience.
She is a member of Skål International Kolkata 127 (India) for the last 5 years and became an Honorary Secretary in 2021.
During her tenure, Skål International Kolkata became a highly engaging platform and was praised by the international Skål International community. The club also became one of the top clubs in the world with the highest number of members and brought a revolution to the Young Skål International movement.
With the Executive Committee members of Skål International Kolkata, she spearheaded many social events as well as made the club a digital front-runner in the Skål International community with a state-of-the-art website and upbeat social media platforms. Observing her work in a very short span of time, she was invited to become a member of the Global Committee on Media Advocacy and Public Relations created by Skål International President Burcin Turkkan. June took a step back from the club Secretary’s administrative official role due to increasing journalistic commitments; however, she continues to pledge for the Skål International Kolkata’s bid to host the World Congress 2024 for which she worked very hard along with the club President. Nonetheless, she continues to be a solid force as a Skål International ambassador in the tourism world with her strong media voice!
June has worked with over 75 countries in tourism promotion, contributing to their marketing and publicity campaigns and helping shape their media communications. A trailblazing career working in top media organizations spanning mainline television, travel exhibition, conference, print media, and digital platforms has positioned her as a unique and trustworthy strategist in the international travel and tourism industry.
She is a graduate in Political Science from Presidency College (now University), Kolkata (India) and a post-graduate in Film Studies from Jadavpur University, Kolkata (India). With a CNN Journalism Fellowship under her belt, June is also an external examiner for Journalism, Mass Communication & Videography at St. Xavier’s College (now University), Kolkata (India). A strong advocate of freedom of speech and equal opportunity, June roots for tourism SDGs, sustainable tourism, slow travel, responsible travel media and dignity of media.
