Dear Skålleagues,
Skål International: Showcasing the Power of Networking in Travel and Tourism
Skål International is the world’s largest travel and tourism networking organisation, yet there are still many who may not have heard of us, have always meant to join, or may have been a member in the past. Some may even have a different perception of the organisation compared to the dynamic and modern network we are today.
Our current members experience first-hand the diversity of gender, age, and industry connections within Skål, and they truly value the opportunities we offer for friendship, networking, and business development. However, communicating these values to those outside the organisation can sometimes be challenging.
To help share what it means to be a part of Skål, we’ve created a series of videos designed to give both prospective and current members insight into the benefits of membership.
Behind the Scenes at the National Assembly
During the National Assembly in Cairns in September 2024, we spent the weekend interviewing members and capturing the essence of Skål at its best. We showcased the fun, networking, and camaraderie during the events hosted throughout the weekend. From these sessions, we produced three videos that will be released over the coming months:
- Video 1
(released in this newsletter): “Skål in 3 Words” – A quick snapshot of
our members sharing what Skål means to them in three words.
- Video 2 (to be
released in the February newsletter): “Meet the Members” – In
this video, members discuss how they discovered Skål and how they’ve
integrated it into their business and personal lives.
- Video 3 (to be released at the Perth AGM and NA): An overarching video that highlights what Skål International is all about and the many benefits of becoming a member.
Sharing the Message: Empowering Clubs and Members
At the upcoming Broome AGM in March, we will be providing guidance on how clubs and members can use and share these videos on social media, as well as how they can incorporate them into their membership development efforts.
A special thanks to Serena Findlay from the Adelaide club for her filming and production of these videos, and to everyone who contributed through interviews and clips.
We hope that each of you will share these videos on your social media pages and use them as a tool to expand your Skål network across Australia. Let’s continue to promote the idea of "doing business among friends."
Warm Regards,
